BLACKPOOL 2010

Show dates are Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January 2010. More details will be published on the website later in the year.

RULE 241 & TRAPS

(9 April 2009)

RPRA Rule 241 remains as printed in the Rule book and reproduced below:

“241. The antennae of the ETS must be fitted within the confines of the loft or trapping systems, not underneath external landing boards. Club officials may make random checks at any time. Contravention of this rule will result in disciplinary action under rule 70A.”

The opinion given by the committee to an enquiry from a Region Committee reported in the British Homing World (RPRA Spring Meeting) on 10 April that: “any ETS trapping system where the bird is recorded before the bird is confined within the trap or loft contravenes Rule 241” is suspended.

The Council Officers have confirm that Rule 241 is unchanged and that the opinion given by the committee at the recent Coventry meeting is in abeyance pending a full review of RPRA rules by the Rules Review Committee being carried out over the next six months.

BIO-SECURITY

The 7 day isolation period for racing pigeons following the return from a continental race no longer applies. Pigeons raced from an EU country one week can now be resent to any race the following weekend. This includes Channel Island racing pigeons which may now be sent to marking stations on the mainland for national events.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE CHANGES APPLY TO RACING AND NOT SHOWING
