| Race Day - 28 July 201115.00 Update
Well we had a brilliant race today the hard work they have had in training paid off. There are 597 birds on the clock at the moment and i will update the result at 9pm. The winners took 1 hour 10 minutes to cover the 56 miles which is 1400 vel or 48mph with no or very little wind and also very warm. Stewart Wardrop the new General Manager took the birds for us to Stafford and did a grand job in taking care of them so well done Stewart you have got yourself a new job . It was a pleasure for me to see the birds come home as i have not seen them do this for a few years now bar the final race , it was nice to see they were full of bounce after a night on the trailer and after being marked etc which is stress in itself. They will have a few days off and will be back to work either Sunday or Monday if the weather is on ourside. Stewart filmed a video of the liberation so that will be online in the next day. Also for this year we will be bringing the Ace pigeon standings after each race so its more interesting following your birds performance over the race series..

| Thursday Training - 21 July 2011Afternoon
I went to the NFC marking station today and took the one loft birds there for a liberation at Alveley thanks to Ray Scriven for letting me use there field. The distance is about 30 miles as a pigeon flys. I would of liked to have gone further but the weather was not good enough to do so. The birds took 5 minutes to clear but they went off online and it was a good trainer today. A result will be on the calendar by 9pm. If the weather is good enough tomorrow we will train.. Also would like to thank UK Pigeon Couriers who have collected 8 young birds this week 5 from the chesire area which they have gone out of there way to get them back to us at the lofts they always have given us a great service over the past few years. If any do get reported either i will collect them or if its to far Uk Couriers will get them back to us. These birds are now in rehab and will be joining the team when we think the time is right..

Jeremy.. |
| Thursday Training - 14 July 2011Evening
I took the birds to Penkridge today which is 50 miles approx so only a few miles from the 1st Hot spot. They cleared well from the lib point but i cannot be sure but it looked like approx 200 other trainers joined into them about a mile from where i libbed and so some have done some following in the wrong direction. The winners today did over 50mph back to the lofts of a batch 180 odd, then it was a good while before a another large batch turned in which they came from the se direction ? anyway there are 500 home at the moment but now they are working in very slowly. I have put a result on the loft list tab and will update this at dark tonight and then again tomorrow through the day. Low pressure is set to come in the weekend but we will re group the team and next week we go back to the 40 mile mark to get them back on the button ready for the 1st Hot Spot. I will send a result to go on the calendar tomorrow night when more are home. Will talk to you tomorrow night..

| Wednesday Training - 22 June 2011Evening
Well i moved the birds on today to the 20 mile point. They got together and cleared well heading sw and i did not see any bop around. I took me just under an hour to get back home traffic!! and when i got back to the loft expecting to see them back there were about 5 !!! after about 2 hours after liberation there were just over a 100 !!! not a nice feeling for me i can tell you. Anyway we are not far off the 600 now from 780 being liberated and there still coming in little groups after 8 hours on the wing!!!. I know these birds are 100 % fit & Healthy and many more will work in tomorrow and so on. I think they must of chased other trainers north and gone many miles off route and are now working in back against the wind. I will put a result on now with times on the loft list tab and will update this at 21.30 tomorrow night on the training calendar as results will be going on now.
Jeremy.. |
| Monday - 20 June 2011Evening
With the Sun out we got a trainer in today i wish i could say no problems with the falcons but afraid not they had ago again this time the falcon got one with another falcon coming close to getting another the young birds went all directions as you can well expect. I took my video camera and filmed the sod with one in his claws but you cannot see that much on the film. I lost sight of them and feared the worst that we were going to take a big hit. Anyway i took off home and when i was about 4 miles from the loft i could see 2 batches racing home and when i arrived back i called in 700 and birds were arriving after in little groups or singles after that. That is 3 hits from 4 training tosses now !!!. We got away with it again with not to many missing but it breaks my heart to loose any to them.
Tomorrow they will rest up and Wednesday i am going to jump them on to see if i can get them away from these ! ! well i know what i would like to say but i won't. I am hoping to be at the 20 mile stage this week weather permitting so then training results will go online..
Will update Wednesday 9pm..
Jeremy.. |
| Sunday Morning - 19 June 2011Morning
With many large organisations holding over from the channel etc and liberating early today Sunday morning i have decided to give today's training toss a miss as if they meet up on-route they could end up many miles adrift in there early stages of training..
Will update tomorrow night of the latest..
Jeremy.. |
| Friday - 17 June 2011Afternoon
Loft list online , birds are looking great roll on Sunday for more training..
Jeremy.. |
| Thursday Training - 16 June 2011Afternoon
We trained today which i moved them on a couple of miles from the last training toss. I released them they kitted up well and just heading home when a falcon struck into the middle of them splitting them always , the falcon missed grabbing one which gave them a chance to take a wide berth again!!! When i arrived back 730 had arrived with some still coming we are upto 770 now so % wise we have been lucky as we know when they strike they just go anywhere.
On the bright side the birds are in great health and racing home very well and we are well on target to having them fully educated for the first race at the end of July. No training tomorrow as bad weather coming in and i want them to recover from being attacked. We will be back on the road Sunday weather permitting. I will also get a complete loft list on late tomorrow night to see where we are after this weeks training..
Jeremy.. |
| Wednesday - 15 June 2011Afternoon
Now training today low cloud & showers. We will see what tomorrow brings..
Jeremy.. |
| Tuesday Training - 14 June 2011Afternoon
Training went very well today so no BOP attacks today which then they soon cleared and headed home. We will see how the weather is tomorrow and hopefully train..
Speak soon..
Jeremy.. |
| Monday - 13 June 2011Afternoon
No training today as they were kepted in the weekend because of racing and the weather on Sunday so they needed to have a good loft fly. I have done some reckys for some new training points talking to farmers etc as its difficult to find suitible lib points which i found a new one today for the next 2 tosses. The weather looks good tomorrow so they will be on the road.
Speak tomorrow..
Jeremy.. |
| Sunday Evening - 12 June 2011Evening
What horrible weather its been today has not stopped raining since the early hours. Current loft list is online. Weather permitting we will be training most days this week. I will put an loft list on each week and when we are training at 20 miles then we will start uploading them online..
Will update tomorrow night 9pm..
Jeremy.. |
| Friday Training - 10 June 2011Evening
I moved the young birds on a couple of mile this morning and when i released them a pair of falcons soon set about them diving into them and splitting them up into many batches i did see one of the falcons seperate one out and chased it off down the valley but could not see if it got that bird the other falcon just kepted going round them and the birds doubled back and headed north which at that point i thought we were in trouble but i carried on watching them and could see them in the distance doing a wide verge of where they were struck to avoid the falcon. I made my way home and when i was a mile from home i could see the main batch racing home towards the lofts which was a happy sight for me to see i can tell you !!!. I think we are about 4 missing but i think it could of been alot worse if i had not done the early training.I bet it won't be the last strike either something needs to be done. I will have a list of the birds in the loft Sunday night..
Speak soon
Jeremy.. |
| Thursday Training - 09 June 2011Afternoon
Well went back to the same point today see if they could improve and glad to say they cleared well and went straight home. I find with one loft birds they are not like your own as there not bred there onsite they also have to contend with all the bugs from so many lofts mixed together which they have to build a one loft immunity. They also vary in different ages etc so its not the case of take them 15 miles and hope for the best we here take them nice and steady and build them up to the task ahead of them as we did last year and we had an enjoyable race series.I find my own young birds ever so different in early training as they don't have to contend with the above and navigate so much better at this stage. We have started early so we carry on building up the distance as they go till they are at the 50 mile stage and ready for there first hot spot. Will train tomorrow weather permitting..
Jeremy.. |
| Tuesday Training - 07 June 2011Afternoon
I took them back to the 4 mile point today and they did alot better not perfect but better. Tomorrow we have the meeting with the FOS so they have an open loft with a bath down. They will be on the road Thursday and all being well Friday. Once we get further and i have tweaked the software then i will do a complete loft list..
Will update Thursday..
Jeremy.. |
| Monday - 06 June 2011Evening
No training today but all being well on the road tomorrow. Had some more home and collected 4. Speak tomorrow night..
Jeremy.. |
| Sunday Evening - 05 June 2011Evening
The young birds went for there first outing Friday from 4 miles they did not clear that well and split up into 4 bunches with the first bunch taking half hour to get home then the next bunch an hour and so on birds have been working in all weekend and this strong wind has not helped. We are about 10 % down from training we were also about 10 % down from fly aways illness hawk attacks ranging off ect so we have around the 800 mark should of been the 900 mark but sometimes the first few trainers can be the worst. They will be back on the road either tomorrow or Tuesday with plenty of training ahead of them.
Speak soon..
Jeremy.. |

We nearly have a full house just the odd few to come in over the next week as some have had breeding problems clear eggs etc so a little help from us is not a big problem. The older birds in the bottom loft are out flying to a routine with the younger birds having there own fly time until they can all go out together which will be early May. The health is good so its just getting them all ready for what lies ahead.

| March - 02 March 2011Hello All
Its rather cold now at Birtsmorton with a bitter north east wind but the young birds don't seem to mind they are all eating and drinking well with the early birds going out tomorrow for the first time.
There are now 121 birds in the loft ( see entrants list). Some are arriving a little bit on the young side would like to see plenty of cover under the wing ,so if you can give them a few more days at your lofts as they soon settle in here as they don't venture to far as they like to keep with the main batch when they go out.
Also very pleased that you are vaccinating at least 7 days before they arrive at the lofts which will benifit your birds rest assured.
I hope to see many of you this coming weekend ,wrap up warm..
Jeremy.. |

| First Birds Arrive - 21 February 2011Hello All
We have the first new young birds in the loft with Mick & Jayde being the early birds from Pentre Lofts i explained to them this could be a omen as last year the first birds to arrive were the winners of 2010 Owen & Hogarth which they are sending there 2011 birds down this week so do they know something we dont
There are 14 in the lofts after the first day with more booked in for Wednesday. Will update Wednesday night of a list of the birds in the loft..
Jeremy.. |
| New Arrivals - 06 February 2011Hello All
Only just over 2 weeks now when the first young birds will arrive at the lofts. Please note we will accept young birds on Monday the 21st of February then every Wednesday and Weekends from 9am till 4pm. Please did not bring or send birds before these dates to follow rule 6
Also its advisable by myself and top vets round the world to vaccinate for PMV at least 7 days before they arrive at the lofts they will be given a booster jab at a later stage. This is best being done about 21 days old then you can send them in a week later. This being done will boost there immune system and will help protect them from circovirus so its your advantage for them to be done. If you have done them please write on the pink form the pmv vaccine batch number. Also please do not send them to the lofts less than 28 days old this way they get a perch and settle better not hanging around on the loft floors and this follows rule 8..
Look forward for the young birds to arrive and meeting old friends & new...

Loft list online , birds are looking great roll on Sunday for more training..
